Super Saturday Seminar

Super Saturday Seminar - The Cross of Christlightfromcross

Introducing John Woodhouse

Dr John Woodhouse is married to Moya and God has blessed them with four children and fourteen grandchildren. John has served in local church ministries and for many years on the faculty at Moore College. Now retired, he enjoys sharing in teaching the Bible in different places and has a number of writing projects underway.

The Cross Of Christ

Most Christians understand that the death of Jesus is very important. That is strange. Why is the death of Jesus so important? It is far from obvious. In our time together John will explain why the death of Jesus is in fact more important than we usually think, and more powerful in its effects than we usually realise. The power of Christianity is the power of Jesus’ death. To understand what Jesus Christ is really about, we need to understand his death. We will be thinking about why Jesus death is so important; why in fact he died (remembering that Islam teaches that he didn’t!); how it can be true that he died for me; and how the death of Jesus changes life for one who trusts Jesus.

La Cantina de St John’s

la Cantina de St John's cena parroquial!LaCantina

On Saturday July 26th, over 100 of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a Spanish theme - thanks to the hard work of the Wednesday Night Bible Study group.

We raised $888 to support the work of Ian and Ruth Batey working with CMS in Seville Spain.

It was great to have Ian and his son Samuel Skyping into our dinner, and to hear more about their ministry.

Thank You to Andrew Munkman who took the following photos of the night, and to everyone who worked so hard to make this a great night.

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.' "
